How can the media (Fox News) get away with their obvious lies?

Fox News has been accused of lying to their viewers by presenting them with false information. This has raised questions about how they are able to continue doing this without facing consequences. The answer lies in the legal concept of “actual malice” which states that a publisher can only be held legally liable for defamation if they knew their statements were false or acted with reckless disregard for the truth. Fox News has been able to successfully defend themselves in court due to their lawyers’ ability to prove that they did not knowingly publish false information and acted responsibly in the process. Additionally, Fox News has been able to take advantage of their position as a news outlet, which gives them more freedom of speech than other companies. This allows them to push the boundaries of what is considered acceptable behavior without facing legal repercussions.
